Texts contain mindfulness gestures that create a shared experience giving us a larger sense of awareness of ourselves in relationship to each other and our environment.

Place your hand
above your eyebrows.
Squint to see into the distance.

Press your spine
into the back of a nearby chair
(which you may currently occupy).
Observe your breathing.

Press your nose against
a glass window. Inhale. Exhale.
Attempt to make cloud patterns with your breath.

Lay on the ground.
Observe the sky.
Point to planes
as they pass overhead.

Participants who opt-in receive a text or two each day. Gestures can be enacted privately, collectively or just imagined and you can share your photos on Instagram with #orbitingtogether.

This winter, the Seattle Art Museum invites collaborating artists Tia Kramer, Eric John Olson and choreographer Tamin Totzke to take up residence at the Olympic Sculpture Park to research, workshop, and realize their participatory project, Orbiting Together.
